At 21:30 on February 27, a high-voltage cable short-circuit and power outage occurred during the production process in Jilin, causing some exhaust equipment in a production workshop to stop operating.
The power supply was restored at 23:10. Workers in relevant positions were inhaled while preparing to resume production. Due to toxic gas, they were quickly sent to professional hospitals for treatment. Five people died after rescue efforts failed. The vital signs of the eight injured are currently stable and their lives are not in danger.
After the accident, the local party committee and government rushed to the scene as soon as possible to direct the rescue, and established an on-site accident disposal team, accident investigation team, environmental monitoring team, medical treatment team, and aftermath working team , do their best to carry out various emergency response tasks, and organize professional forces to the hospital to treat the injured.
At present, the accident scene has been dealt with, the ventilation system has been fully restored, and all secondary disaster factors have been eliminated. The ecological environment department monitored the factory area and surrounding environment and found no harmful gases. An investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
