According to feedback from textile companies and middlemen in Henan, Zhejiang, Shandong and other places, since early August, the signs of cotton yarn, gray fabric, and clothing markets have become more and more obvious, but orders are still relatively slow, and gauze companies are also very cautious. . Textile companies in Ningbo, Zhejiang, Suzhou, Jiangsu and other places said that in the past half month, inquiries and transactions for C50S and above high-count carded and combed yarns have bottomed out in May and June, and the quotations of large manufacturers and brand cotton yarns have generally increased. 300-400 yuan/ton, and some “special spinning” or “custom-spun” high-count yarns have even reported an increase of 700-800 yuan/ton.
In addition to the gradual recovery of end consumer demand, the factors for some major manufacturers to increase cotton yarn quotations also include the following two reasons: First, since late July, the price of Zheng Cotton’s main CF2101 contract has increased from 12,500 yuan/ton. To about 13,000 yuan/ton (high point 13,140), Xinjiang cotton spot quotations and “fixed price” increased; secondly, since the sudden outbreak of the new crown epidemic in late January, domestic cotton yarn, gray cloth and other quotations have been in a downward trend from February to July. , coupled with the high prices and large-scale contract purchases of cotton and other raw materials by some cotton spinning mills before the Spring Festival, except for special yarns and organic cotton yarns, high-count and low-count conventional varieties are basically in a state of no profit or even losses, and the rebound in yarn prices has only been suppressed. , return to the effective release of market value.
Judging from the survey, some garment enterprises in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Guangdong and other places have begun to operate at full capacity. A few brand processing factories have even reappeared the situation of working overtime, while large and medium-sized yarn mills and weaving factories above designated size have begun to operate at full capacity. The operating rate has also rebounded from June and July (generally reaching 70%-80%), but it is still difficult for order-receiving companies to judge whether the textile and apparel situation will rebound briefly or fundamentally improve. As gauze production and sales struggle to recover, manufacturers and foreign trade companies are increasingly worried.
Under the premise of the second outbreak of the epidemic and the swing in Sino-US relations, not only textile and garment enterprises are more cautious in accepting domestic and foreign sales orders, but traders and retailers in the Middle East, Europe, America, Japan and South Korea are also afraid to enlarge orders. Place long orders, so “short, flat, fast” is still the main tone of orders. A large textile group in Ningbo said that foreign trade orders with delivery times of more than two months are currently relatively rare. The increase in production load of some weaving factories and clothing companies may be mainly due to the rush to complete “short, flat and fast” orders, rather than domestic sales and exports. Orders have really recovered on a large scale, so we are looking forward to the upcoming peak season of the textile industry, but we should not be too high, because judging from the information passed down by foreign trade companies, clothing, printing and dyeing companies in coastal areas, although there are orders confirmed one after another, the overall There is still a significant gap compared with previous years.
At present, the downgrade of consumer demand for downstream clothing, gauze and other products has not improved significantly. Under the premise of saturated domestic sales market, the price war for orders will become more intense. How can we talk about profits and production enthusiasm? According to cotton spinning mills, current inquiries and transactions of cotton yarn are still mainly based on 21S-40S, while OE yarn and low-count ring spinning yarn have more stocks, and short-term destocking is the main focus. Although stocks of high-count carded and combed yarns are low, orders are also few. Textile and clothing companies judge that the recovery of foreign trade orders is significantly lower than expected, the national policy of “internal circulation” and the trend of domestic economy and consumption quickly returning to the right track. Export-oriented enterprises will definitely accelerate their domestic market layout and seize market share. </p
