Recently, ethylene glycol has been very strong, and it seems that it will enter a blank period after production conversion, but this is not the case. There will be many new projects put into operation in the future, such as Shandong Yulong Petrochemical’s 1.6 million tons of oil-to-ethylene glycol production. Shandong Yulong Island Refinery is stepping up construction and entering key stages such as equipment installation. Take a look at the latest progress and high-definition pictures of the site.
Yulong Petrochemical Project
Recently, the 1,960-ton quenching oil tower of the 1#1.5 million/year ethylene unit of the Yulong Island Refining and Chemical Integration Project (Phase I) was successfully installed, marking that the large-scale hoisting of Yulong Petrochemical Chemical Island has entered a critical stage. The 1# ethylene unit and 1# propylene tower were successfully hoisted into place, and the 4,000-ton hydraulic lifting system successfully completed the hoisting task.
The 1# propylene tower weighs 2,340 tons and is 109.4m long, making it the heaviest piece of equipment in the Yulong Petrochemical Project.
The quenching oil tower (C-1501) is the heaviest equipment of the 1.5 million tons/year ethylene unit No. 1 and No. 2 of the Yulong Island Refining and Chemical Integration Project. The lifting task is heavy and difficult. The quenching oil tower is transported to the hoisting site as a whole. After the tower pipeline, ladder platform, anti-corrosion and insulation are installed on the ground, it is hoisted as a whole. The overall dimensions of the equipment are Φ12600*65000*36 mm, and the total lifting weight is 1960 tons.
The hoisting was carried out using the single-host lifting and delivery method. The XGC88000 4000-ton crawler crane of China National Petroleum Corporation was used as the main crane on site, and the XGC12000 (800-ton) crawler crane was used for auxiliary hoisting at the tail end. The 4,000-ton crawler crane adopts a special jib working condition, with an overlift counterweight of 1,700t and an overlift radius of 37m. The two cranes worked together to lift the equipment steadily, and finally the equipment was successfully installed in place.
What kind of project is the Yulong Island refining and chemical integration project?
As a “heavy weapon” for the integration of local refining in Shandong Province, the first phase of the Yulong Island refining and chemical integration project is located on the 2nd and 3rd islands of Yulong Island, Longkou, Yantai City, Shandong Province. The project site is currently an artificial land island formed by reclamation. , and also planned a 15-square-kilometer area outside the island to implement the construction of supporting projects such as water supply, crude oil tank farms and pipelines, collection and distribution, assembly and manufacturing, and office services. The project construction investment is approximately 127.4 billion yuan, with a construction period of 24 months. Construction will officially start in October 2020.
The project will design the overall process flow in accordance with the principle of “less oil, more aromatics, more ene”, import and process Saudi light and Saudi heavy conventional sour crude oil, and vigorously develop downstream deep processing. The project aims to provide the maximum amount of high value-added chemical raw materials while taking into account the quality of oil products, and build a world-class high-end petrochemical industry base.
The project plans to build 20 million tons/year crude oil processing capacity and 2×1.5 million tons/year ethylene units, 3 million tons/year mixed xylene, as well as gasoline, aviation kerosene, diesel, 1.6 million tons of ethylene glycol, HDPE, UHMWPE, Deep processing equipment such as PP, EVA/LDPE, butadiene rubber, integrated rubber and ABS, supporting public works, auxiliary facilities and seawater desalination, seawater intake and drainage facilities.
