The Central Meteorological Observatory will continue to issue typhoon blue warnings at 18:00 on August 3: The center of the South China Sea Tropical Depression will be located at 5 pm on the 3rd on the northern coast of the South China Sea, about 425 kilometers southwest of the junction of Fujian and Guangdong, at 21.4 degrees north latitude and east longitude. 113.8 degrees, the maximum wind force near the center is level 7 (15 meters/second), and the minimum air pressure in the center is 992 hPa.
It is expected that the low-pressure center will move eastward at a speed of 5-10 kilometers per hour. It may develop into a typhoon in the next 24 hours and will arrive on the evening of the 5th. It made landfall along the coast from eastern Guangdong to southern Fujian at night (tropical storm level or severe tropical storm level, level 8-10, 20-25 meters/second).
It may also pass through the Taiwan Strait and gradually move northeastward.
Whether it lands in Guangdong Province or not, due to its close proximity to the coast, it will bring significant wind and rain impacts to southern Guangdong Province and the coast (from west to east) in the next few days. Especially in the Pearl River Estuary and the east areas, there are heavy to heavy rains, and coastal winds gradually increase to level 8 to 10.
Affected by the tropical depression, the Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory has issued a typhoon blue warning signal at 09:00 on August 3.
